Hey beauties!!! This weekend has been good and relaxing! My Goddaughter had her 6th bday party, one of my girlfriends from college got engaged and I found a new love in Trader Joes Mango sorbet!!! Cheers to this weekend!!

Finally back in the gym

So, yesterday I went to the gym and took a lower body/ab class...OMGoodness!! I should have really taken baby steps with getting back in the habit but I dove straight in. My thighs are still burning but I will keep going as much as I can. I will only do the hard core cardio classes on days that I dont take my medication. on the days of taking my meds I will do yoga or have it as a rest day :)

Hey beauties!!

How has everyone's new year been so far? It started off sad because there was a death in my fiance's family which is obviously family to me. It is sad however God is so amazing. All the family that came out for the homegoing service was truly moving. I'm very happy to be apart of his family. There is a tight bond and the role of family is so important to me.

I'm praying for improvement and change health wise. Before the holidays I had a really bad flare up with my condition as I wrote about before. It lasted almost 3 weeks and because of that I will be starting a new medication soon. Its a decision I had to make because I have to always consider my future. I unfortunately cant do things spontaneously like I used to, everything I have to give "real" thought to. The medication that I currently take is Avonex which is a once a week shot (the needle has to go into the muscle), the new medication Rebif is a 3 times a week shot that goes into the top layer of skin. Rebif is considered an intermediate disease modifying drug. Hopefully, this will work out for me. I will post about my progress.

Hey beauties! So since this week has been pretty rough, I had a lot of time to think and reflect. First off, I don't like pity or for anyone to feel sorry for me and my illness because I'm not! :) I know God doesn't make any mistakes and I Do serve a purpose. Next, I am becoming more interested in spreading awareness about MS and possibly advocacy. Also, I have to find a better nutrition plan. I know I'm always like "oh I will watch what I eat or workout this amount of time" truth is I may start off a week or two in a habit and then give up. Well, I need to be lighter. I could lose about 15 pounds. When I lose the weight, I believe there could be better strength in my legs, my cholesterol will go down and I will have a better BMI number.
I am being realistic by starting this after the holidays because I'm sure I will still pig out for Christmas and new years lol but I am determined :) plus I want to look good for my honeymoon ;)

I saw this video and I couldn't do anything but say "YES" someone knows and can relate to how I feel. This is my testimony and I plan to spread awareness about Multiple Sclerosis. I'm trying to turn something that may not be so great into a Positive. God is good and I will always praise HIM.

Rough Week but the Sun is still Shining

This week (starting from saturday) hands down was one of the worst I have experienced in a while yet I still smile I had a bad flare up with the illness. It got to the point where I could not walk well without assistance and my left side of my body was completely weak and numb. Despite this, I know I still have it alot better than many. As I sat in my Neurologist office waiting to be called on I saw many with neurological disorders whom were in wheel chairs and all I could do is say Lord have Mercy and Thank you.

So to help with the flare up I had to take 3 doses of steroids YIKES!!!!!! today meaning 12/16 will be my third day of treatment and I feel a difference already. I am still walking a little slow however I can do it on my own . the burning in my arms and legs has stopped, and I have gain strength in my left side so I’m good. The steroids are given through an IV fusion and it takes about an hour. Thank goodness my mother (who is retired) was there with me so I didn’t go through this alone. Stevey was at work so its great to have had the next closest person to me there. My blood is getting tested as well, and alot of test are being done as we speak to see if the antibodies in my system is really taking in the disease modifying drug (Avonex) that I have been on for over a year. If it comes back that it’s not receiving well then that’s like saying that I’m not taking any therapy for it at all good news is that there are other alternatives so we shall see!

I also signed up to participate in a study in New York that is geared towards African-Americans with MS. See in the past Multiple Sclerosis was mostly common in Caucasian females but now it has expanded to Men and other races. Scientists believe that the cognitions and progression of the disease may be worst in African-Americans so with that said I am all for learning and participating.

Which is leading me to the next step. I decided that I want to get more active in the research/giving back/ advocacy in the MS movement. I had a blog which I created when I first was diagnosed but I barely blog there I don’t know why I havent but I plan to change that. I think I may delete and start from scratch. I just feel that with positivity, psychology background, wanting to spread awareness will really be fulfilling Pray for me yall! lol

Yes its that time of the year again..Thanksgiving and Christmas!!! Which means EATS=Weight Gain

Ahhh I know we love it going down however we will see it later in a new area of our body lol.

October (November too actually) was a challenging month for me, I didn't and haven't been in the gym like I would and should :(. and with other girlie stuff I have just been chowing away. I wonder if its nerves? hormonal? anxiety? doesn't really matter but I'm really going to make more of an effort to pump it up more :)

Wooo Weeee 9 months to go tell me and Mr.R say "I Do" wow...where has the time gone? Well, things are coming along and we are beyond excited. I think the cutest thing is that Mr. R actually is involved..like we picked out save the dates designs together and the agreed on the photo. Which is exactly what I wanted. I'm not all about the its "all about the bride" state of mind because for 1) I can't marry myself and 2)he should voice opinions because its his wedding too :) so will keep u posted on any updates

I have all the respect for Bey, who else can have movie directors pausing film so that she can have a pregnancy instead of giving up the role? :D

I am very happy here in l.i. we didnt get the horrible damage that was expected. Many disagree with me, but I am happy the gov't did evacuate people that lived in high flooding areas.

Whats interesting to me is the amount of people disappointed that Irene didnt do more damage *confused face*...so you want to experience "Katrina" like circumstances? *rolls eyes* ok smh.

Regardless, I'm happy and will continue to count my blessings that I only experienced gusty winds and kept me awoke.

It pours doesn't it? Hmph on days like this all I would want to do is ball up and be left alone...Did I? Nope. I went to church, was instantly encouraged. God is an On Time God and is truly amazing.

Whenever I begin to have doubt about myself or struggle with some burdens, I keep in mind "look at where I came from". I'm sure if you look back to the past 5 years, you will see how much better off you are. If you still cant see it, then watch the commercials of the starving children in distant countries, better yet look in the urban areas. You will see that you definitely have it alot easier than Most. Continue to believe and keep the faith, try not to keep your head low, try not to :( but turn that sad face around :) God bless you beauties

Hey beauties! Yes 8/9/2012 will be here before we know it. Time is really flying by however I am doing my best to keep it all together :) My fiance, parents and besties are really keeping me focused and relaxed. I really don't want to go crazy because healthwise its not good to be overly stressed and just in general it doesnt make sense to go crazy for something that is God sent and natural.
Now dont get me wrong I enjoy and I am entertained by bridezillas but the women are bonkers smh LOL. I am fully aware that there will be stressful times, and shortcomings but the beat must go on!

Ever wonder about that feeling Dorothy had in the Wizard of Oz? Like just with clicking your heels 3 times you were able to return home, to what was normal. Sometimes, with my condition, I think about clicking my heels 3 times to go back to life before the diagnosis.

Life doesn't work that way, however I know with prayer and trusting in God, all things are possible. The body can heal and restore. Despite it all, my spirit has not changed. If anything, I have become a stronger Woman. Alot of things that I used to dwell on or worry about, really doesn't matter like they use to.

Since I can't click my heels 3 times, I will just take everyday one and a time and enjoy life with my loved ones..OH Yeah and continue Wedding Planning!!!

So, I celebrated my 26 birthday last weekend. I had a good time even though I got sick a few times because I dranked in the heat with my tummy on E (no bueno) however it didn't stop the groove. Lately, a lot has been going on in my head such as wedding planning, my education, jobs, future living arrangements and children. I'm sure just like any other woman who is entering a new journey in her life would agree that spouse, career, home and motherhood are top priority. With that being said, I can't include myself with any drama or negativity. I know trouble does come our way, but with prayer, deep breaths we can look trouble in the eye and throw a curve ball! :)

Boy oh boy is it hella hot outside! Sheesh. This time of the year is really rough for me because of the temperature sensitivity but I'm still stepping it up :)

Anyways, I have a question.... Why do women remain in a whole instead of trying to get out? We all make mistakes some are easier to learn from and some are more difficult. However, no matter how difficult the circumstance is you dont have to remain low and never prosper.

I just feel that you can't claim to be strong and independent when you are in a co-dependent relationship. Your happiness should come from within and not soley from your mate, or friend. We are smart however we rather deal with mistreatment instead of using the wisdom we possess. Think about it..have you ever did this or know of someone who just put themself in a whole and couldnt get out?

Is there ever a point of your life when you just throw up your hands and say I'm done!? I just feel as of late I have been saying that to myself and actually doing it. However, I'm not done lol. My work, talents and new journey is just beginning. God is truly amazing, all praises to Him.

I know I always say that I am usually ghost, sorry for that. I have been busy and lazy smh lol :p How are you lovely ones doing?

All is well on my end, just finishing out the school year. I love the PreK atmosphere :D after I jump the broom with my FI I plan to get my education degree. Right now it's just too much to do that, work full time and plan a wedding. Kudos to the sisters who are doing it though :D.

Last post I said Spring is tryin to creep. Well we are in spring now and I'm done with the rain sheesh lol :D

I am happy that the spring is trying to creep into the scene. I am beyond over the snow here in NY! Its like, the snow messes up your cars, the salt messes up the streets therefore your tires will be jacked by summer smh ohhhhhh old man winter.

Life has been a little hectic but I'm still standing, still strong. My fiance and loved ones are amamzing and are keeping me grounded. I look forward to August 2012 thats when I will be a Mrs!! haha holla :D

I hope all is well. I'm doing pretty good. I've been feeling ok. Much better than the last few weeks. I felt good enough to even make it to Zumba class. The instructor Tara is off the chain and I've been in her class for over a year.

I am still very happy engaged! lol I was getting myself all worked up for alot of things and reasons that just were all that relevant. I'm happy that my babe knows me well enough to not get to p'ed off at me :P lol. so slow but surely the plans will come.

As far as hair goes, I have a simple routine which is just every two weeks deep conditioning and twist outs :D

I'm doing my Nikki Girl Rock! Yep I am loving me, the way the Lord created me and living from the soul. God is doing so much for me and as I reflect on the past 13 years I have evolved. Many know me as a nice, kind-hearted and intelligent individual and those are the things that truly make my heart smile. Others are so "into" fashion, money, appearance, cars and such but those things are accessories to you, they dont MAKE YOU!

What I've learned is that you have to do what makes God happy and of course yourself! Even loved ones will not be able to understand decisions I have made or will make and it is truly not for them to understand. Just love me, Nicole Cherise.

If a person whom you are fond of can only love you because of possessions or trophy values then you need to re-evaluate their relationship to you. I count my blessings everday because I know my loved ones support me even if they do not agree with decisions I make. No matter the outcome of a decision I've made they are there to help put me back on track.

Therefore, this is me-Nicole Cherise, a daughter,sister, girlfriend, bestfriend, co-worker, Mastered a Degree in General psychology, a Teaching Assistant, a Future Early Childhood Eduation Teacher, A survivor, a Fighter, a laugher, a Smiler a Cryer, a Forgiver, a Giver, and most important a Believer! Happy Veteran's day to all who has served and serves our country, we love and thank you :)

I was a lazy blogger in the past but I'm REALLY getting lazy these days lol. Well here's a recap of things

The job is going great :) I love the children. I even want to go for my teaching certification. Its like sometimes when you have a natural ability or when something seems so right, you have to run with it. I believe that it's God telling me, this is one aspect of duty He wants me to serve.

I'm making alot of strides to do better financially, so my saving is getting better these days lol :)

I miss many of my best friends a whole lot. There are so many times when I wish I could just say meet up with me at Barnes & nobles for hot cocoa but can't. Hopefully, as the years go we can link up more :).

Honey and I are good, pretty happy path. His bday is this saturday so I'm happy to celebrate it with him, even though I may be more excited than he is lol

Family is good...so I am all smiles :)

First week with PreK

So far my first week working in the PreK class has been great. I have to say these children have a big personality and are smarter than you think :D. this week the children were practicing for the hispanic heritage celebration. My Godaughter did a great job, I was so proud of her. I love the fact that I am able to be near her especially this being the first time she is in school :D.

I have lost 4 pounds, I am aiming to lose 8 pounds a month because I will get to my ideal by february. It gets a little challenging because I ideally would love to work out 3 to 4 times a week however there are days when my body tells me to rest or take it easy. So I slowly but surely change up how I eat so I shed some pounds and cut down on cholesterol :)

I cut mi pelo a few weeks ago. I used the search and destroy method. My hair feels and seems so much better since the cut. I have to confess that this summer I was pretty lazy with the deep conditioning but now that the weather is cooling off I have to do better because I know better :). My signature style is and will always be a twist out. I prefer my twist out on blow dried stretched hair. My hair appears bigger and it is more fluffier what do you think?

I'm really feeling this fushia pink lip gloss from nyx as well. I will be experimenting with more colors and such eventually, once I have $ that I can spare.

I always speak on remaining prayerful and trusting God. I am pleased to say that God is answering my prayers. I have a new job that I start on Monday (I will post after the first week). I'm back to working out and feeling better since the summer.

Remaining Humble

I had a pretty great weekend! Me and the honey celebrated our 10 year anniversary :D
Its great to know when you have someone who loves and respects you. For this being one of the many reasosn I remain humble.

I feel sometimes in life when we are at a "high peak" we tend to lose focus of what is important. Like whenever something good is happening in life how often do we really speak to God? I mean we are so quick to call on God when things are rough expecting for Him to get us through the storm. We have to remain humble in all circumstances in life.

The unconditional love God has for us amazes me. Its like we are naturally bad/sinners however God spared His only begotten son Jesus to die for us! So how dare we to act Mighty High and forget what truly important? Just some thoughts..

I find it fun to style my mother's hair..Now I am far from a professional however Ma trust me enough to wash,deep condition, blow dry and flat iron her hair from time to time.

Today, I did something a little different to the usual regiment for styling. I adding extra virgin coconut oil to the avocado deep conditioner. I also used Jilbere Vented Straightening/Cutting Comb! Her hair results were amazing and like satin!!!

I saw on NIKSTARWASHERE.COM the straightening comb and I said oh wow I need to invest in this!!! Thanks NIK for the vid and suggestion :D!!!

Ever feel like this? I feel like screaming alot these days mainly because of crazy obstacles that life offers. You have to wonder at times, when will this be over? or when can the sunshine come out?

I read on facebook at status that said "don't wait until the storm is over, learn how to dance in the rain" this is very true. We constantly sit and wait for better days, for all we know better is there right in our face but we refuse to see it because we are caught up in our selfish ways.

Lets remember, God is able and a deliver. So when you want to scream, trust and believe He knows your pain, he knows your struggle. Even when we may steer away from God, He has not turned his back on us. God Bless beauties

Hey beauties! On this day in 2001, our country will always remember those who lost their lives and how many of our lives changed after the attack.

What disturbs me is how much HATE we have. When I say we I mean Race..The HUMAN RACE. its like people of ALL religions can be quick to say I do this hate crime for my God. Oh really? I'm christian and I have friends from different religious beliefs and no where in our religious literary does it say " KILL for ME" or involve in "hate crimes". No that is people who do that. We are all sinners, yes yes Its true the difference is that we should try to do better so that one day God can have mercy on our souls.

I'm just tired of all this hatred and anger going on from "religion" to "politics" Everyone is so quick to say "united we stand" no the heck we don't...many of us say it because it sounds good or we may follow it for a week or so but at the end of day people turn their sadness into anger and hostility. I hope and pray that one day freedom will ring.

On 7/23/1985 around 3 pm yours truly was born! I am 25 years young and I'm truly overwhelmed by it all. This year alot has been going on and I feel happy to know that I have a wonderful support system. My coworkers gave me a surprise bday luncheon and my boyfriend took me out to dinner and we danced later.I received many gifts from family and friends :D Its so funny because on tuesday I was just saying how I wasn't looking forward to my bday I felt like it was any other day I think it was just me thinking where I "should" be by 25 and realizing that my journey of Life on Earth has giving me many curve balls. But to God be the Glory, I know I will be fine. I'm very happy.

U ever realize in the summer you hear about the most accidents? or many of our young people dying? To me I think when the weather changes to high temperatures people do NOT know how to act. Everyone parades around half naked, people have horrible attititudes because of the heat and people just overall act a hot mess. I pray that people get it together.

Yesterday there was a bad single car accident here in long island. 5 were in the car in total, the driver and passenger survived the accident.the 3 passengers in the back were killed. one boy who was 19 and the brother of the driver, and the two others were sisters 19, and 22. The 22 year old just got a job as a teacher...Could you imagaine this? how sad is that! There was no alcohol involved, but the police are still doing an investigation.

Please people Buckle Up! and take it easy.

Time and time again many sistas run into conversation about appearance. I know that within every race and culture women are always judged based on their skin complexion, hair or body shape.

I know some say they get tired of hearing black women making themselves out to be the victim but honestly, it is not our fault. Actually society doesn't accept us for who we really are or what we Really look like. It's even sad to know that because of society "Rules" our brothas are treating us like crap because we may not meet the standards.

If we lived in a better world, I believe women especially sistas would see the real royalty in them. Like we were made in the Image of God. If God intended on us to wear weaves and chemical processes our parents would have received it along with our birth certificates.

During college I discovered myself and whom I really am. I know I am nothing without God. I know God made me without ANY MISTAKES no matter what People or Society says. My skin tone is beautiful, my KINKY hair is gorgeous...Many may not agree however at the end of the day I'm ME and I love it, soooo......GET OVER IT!

People we really need to get it together. We are much more than the clothes we wear, the color of our skin or the way Our Hair looks. We are a people that is blessed and highly favored. Think about it....

I hope all is well. Things are good this way. I received another opinion about my diagnosis.The new doctor as well says its MS. Today I went for another MRI but this time with the contrast dye. This MRI went a lot smoother since I guess we were only look at the head-brain and spine-cervical oppose to the other 4 I took in March.

I feel ok, besides the constant burning in my hands/fingers and legs. Today is so hot and normally days like this I just want to get up and go however now its just not that simple. However I plan to start taking Avonex so hopefully the flare ups will calm down, I pray that God sees that to be.

I'm planning to start a separate blog that is going to be primarily for MS talk :D so I wont bore you beautiful ones with my neuro stuff. however I will here and there post an update and so forth.

Well beauties be good and stay cool. I'm going to do my best to stay cool as well.

This month already is going to be busy. I have summer jam on sunday, I'm getting a spinal tap done, graduation parties, maxwell and erykah badu concert with the honey and more..I'm just taking my time with everything because I refuse to go Nuts!!! lol

I hope all is well.... I hope all the mother's had a wonderful mother's day weekend. I am doing ok. This past week has been pretty rough. I feel as if during hormonal changes and when the weather is really hot the symptoms get worst. So I decided to track everything in a small calendar. so after I get the spinal tap done (June) I can explain reveal everything that has been taking place in the last 2 months.
For some having MS is a big secret and a sense of shame, for me it's not. NO I do not walk around with a sign that says "I have MS" or ask for pity I just feel that being the type of person I am who is bubbly and happy go lucky, there is no way that on my worst days I can hide it. I plan to document any changes or important findings on my blog as well so if there is anyone else out there who is newly diagnosed or veterans we can be more of support together :D..Take care beauties!

Many of us had New Year's Resolutions to save money or be smart with our spending however a lot of us continue to purchase valuables or things we believe are of high value. No, it is not easy to save every dollar that should be in our savings but as we get older more responsibilities arise.

I will say, something that irks me is when I hear peeps say "Oh I'm Broke, I can't pay my bills or I need an advance in pay" but they planned a trip to the Bahamas knowing damn well they don't have money in savings *SMH*. I always say if you knew better you would do better. However,I've come to understand that for many there is an exception to the last phrase because many were never taught by their parents the importance in saving. If your parents didn't value the importance of having good credit or saving, what would force the child to make good financial decisions? Lets remember beauties that it doesn't have to be this way, you CAN get your finances together, START TODAY!!!

SAVERS work hard and play later..
Many people who save will have advantages. People who are savers may purchase the Home or Car that they want not what they had to settle for. Savers have the choice to have a college account for their children or investments. Savers can travel all around the world as they please...Basically, Savers for the most part live Life comfortably and always have a stash for a rainy day.

Spenders believe they need to have everything they want when they want and not think twice of the alternative outcomes.Spenders have to settle on whatever living conditions they can get because they choose to spend their money on stuff they think are more important at the time. Spenders would save up a lot of money to purchase the latest name brand clothing,jewelery and/or accessories instead of putting it in their bank accounts. Spenders also will spend all their money to go on beautiful vacation but return home with a phone cut off and lights out!

Nothing is wrong with wanting to look nice or spending top $$$ for your stuff because all in all it is Your Life, just make sure that you take care of HOME first! So here is the question beauties: ARE YOU A SAVER OR SPENDER? and if you are in between how are you handling the situation?

I havent been feeling the best. For over a year I have been feeling a weakness or numb sensation with them and recently about a month ago; my left arm has been doing the same thing. Like to grab something was challenging at times. A coworker of mine recommended a neurologist to me and boy was I happy..until I realized I dont have health insurance :( . She called on my behalf and told them my situation. So a normal visit which could have been $400 I only paid $250. God is good.

So I have been changing up my diet slowly but surely. Its not easy though, I cant tell you how many times I want to go to five guys and have a bacon cheeseburger and Cajun fries but I resist. I love pasta like it is going out of style however if I eat it now it must be whole wheat. I can tell u that within 3 weeks I have lost 7 pounds. This may not be alot to some but it is to me. I haven't gone to the gym this week because I have been having some problems with my legs and arms. For a while now my legs will get weak and have a numb sensation. I am going to see a neurologist on the 26th so hopefully I can find out what the problem is. but any ways....I am keeping my head up and trying to stay active and fit! Are you beauties working it out? how are you staying active?

We do make a big deal when it comes to Mothers however while I was listening to Michael Baisden a woman called and complained about her two sons. Her two sons were 37 and 40 and they never gave her a mothers day card or flowers.. Now I understand we do not know the circumstances but I was really taken back when I heard that. Its like my mother always told me and my brother, You only have One Mother and once she closes her eyes for the last time, she Wont come back. and trust and believe We will need our Mommas more than they will ever Need Us..Think about it...

Yes bath and body works is one of my guilty pleasures. I have been a fan since freshman year of high school and haven't looked back since :D. They have a new promo for the sweat pea and moonlight path scents and I love them!! I actually love the sweet pea forever and moonlight magic better than the originals. I don't know how many may feel about this but I feel some couples get married for a few reasons: money, loneliness, because it sounds good, pressured and because some believe its the next step to "going together". I feel this is sad.
Whatever happen to religion or family values?

When I get married I want it to be because me and my man are READY to take it to the next level meaning we know each other the good and the ugly. We should be ready to become a one unit. Hopefully God will bless us with a fruitful marriage and we can raise children.

I feel in our generation many are infatuated with the idea of marriage instead of what it truly means. Its like no one takes the promise that they made to God (or whomever else you believe in) seriously. Like I cannot stretch that anymore VOWS are a promise to not only your spouse but to GOD. so when times get rough you are not suppose to turn the other cheek or run out on your spouse. We are suppose to work hard and pray. Pray to God to intervene in the marriage.

So last night I was in Marshall just browsing around I noticed some of carols daughter products there. Now I am fully aware that the jamaican punch is being discontinued so for all of you who love that fragrance I suggest u stock up now. Marshall's had the body scrub, body and bath oil, and the Khoret Amen oil and shampoo. I purchased the groove and ocean body oils and body scrubs they are not my favs but hey at the prices of $7.99 for cd body scrub I cant say no. and the oils were $5.99. the khoret amen shampoo was 3.99 and the oil was either 5.99 or 4.99. Definitely steals. I would have went crazy if they had almond cookie or estasy but I'm grateful for what I did get. So what other bargains have you beauties been able to get your hands on?

Is it me or is this winter out of control??? I mean sheesh yes I expect the cold weather and snow but this is just hype.
I have to ante up on moisture because my skin and hair has been feeling a little dry therefore I'm drinking more water, moisturizing my skin while damp (like right from shower I apply carol's daughter almond cookie bath oil, then I dry my skin with my towel), and using either vigoral's curl creme or missjessies curlybuttercream. I do need to deep condition more however since my hair is in a dry twist out with flat two strand twist on the side I've been lazy lol. What are u beauties doing to protect your skin and/or hair from the winter?

Friend, a word that is tossed around frequently. Many introduce themselves as friends with others and many lie to your face calling you a friend mean while they could care two cents about you.

According to dictionary.com a friend is :
a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.
2. a person who gives assistance; patron; supporter: friends of the Boston Symphony.
3. a person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile: Who goes there? Friend or foe?

So how many friends do you really have ?I am guilty of calling many a friend when they are just an extension of an associate. My real friends have stood by my side when I'm right and when I'm wrong. We communicate well and share a bond. My real friends know me, they know my pain, my struggle, my weaknesses, my strengths and my courage.
Extended Associates know much of what my real friends do however when I really need support, they are ghost. when life starts to have turmoil they are clucking their heels in another direction. They pretend to care however if they never met you, their lives wouldn't change one bit....My real friends effect my life every day. Without them in my circle apart of me is missing.

One of the smartest individuals that I know said the quote " people are in your life for different reasons and different seasons" and as I've gotten older and wiser that quote sticks with me.

And one of my friends stated to me "Nik,I can count on one hand my Real Friends" and I would sit there like true but what about so and so or that one, now I realize my friend was right. My Real and genuine friends are only in one hand, now there are few, and I'm stretching few that I am close to as well. I'm just blessed and happy to know the cinco amigas I have are worth it all and I appreciate our sisterhood. I know that if times get rough they are there in my corner to go to War! Thank God for them.

Black Men don't Respect Black Women?

While listening to D.L. Hugley I heard a white male call in with this statement. As sad as that sounds, is there any truth to that?

Now I have wonderful black men in my life however I will admit some of our brothers are dipping with other women even if they are in committed relationships or fathering children outside of marriage etc... It does hurt that as a black woman, black men are doing this to us. I mean it's disturbing to hear that black men are done with black women. Don't get me wrong you love and have a relationship with whoever you want as long as you are happy however to hear brothers say they are tired of black women for shallow reasons (skin tone, hair, body) is simply SELF HATRED. There is no other way around it..brainwashed by society Period.

Now ladies, as much as I do agree that some brothers don't respect black women, you have to also realize that it's not only brothers. ANY MAN from ANY RACE will cheat, lie or deceive you. So do not think because you may be a trophy woman to a man of a different race that you wont get played.

I just wish for one day that all people will treat one another like they want to be treated, especially in Relationships.

Now I am working out more often and after a workout I go in the hot tub to chill out my muscles then I take a shower and get dressed. now I have my towels and cover up but there is one woman who really makes herself at home and parades around naked...I mean NAKED!!!! Yes we are all women and yes u should be confident however..no one wants to see u strut around with your nips and private parts exposed smh. So I have been going hard at working out. In february I will have had my Xsport gym membership for a year and I can say since the new year I really have been working out. Attending the gym up into this point was to make sure I stay active now I'm really working and pumping a sweat. My measurements are 34-30-39 1/2 I want them to read 34-26-39 but with patience and willpower I will make it there. I'm really trying to shed a few inches off the belly..uhh not gonna be easy. Is anyone else out there working it out?

I know I have been MIA its because my lab top is being operated on :( so hopefully next week I will be back in business..

However I have not been out of the loop of the disaster that took place in Haiti, my heart and prayers go out to the families who experience this horrific event. Does any one know anyone that was effected? do you plan to send clothes, money. I donated to YELE Haiti from my cell, however my mother and i plan to donate clothes and shoes as well...

I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays :D...I did. I went out east with my honey and chilled with him and his family. I had a great time. Now I'm here watching the temptations movie (uncut is very long btw) :D. I think about their song "Give love on Christmas day" all the time which is by far my favorite Christmas Song :D. I have no idea where I would be in life without the love from my family and friends, therefore I am forever thankful and blessed. what about you? what is the best gift that u received this year. Beside nice gifts, and love..one of my best friends had a son on the 19th thru blizzard 2009, He indeed is a bundle of JOY!!

Is it getting cold enough for you? shooot it freezing. I am summer baby to the fullest! the cold makes me want to sleep and snuggle up. LOL

speaking of snuggle up I have seen many status on facebook that says "wifey weather" lol. I know this may be true to some but I wonder if some guys really do train themselves to settle with a girl for boo loving action during the breezy seasons but once the spring and summer comes they flip the script? what is your take on this?

Hey beauties!!

So I went to visit my brother in Charlotte, NC. I had a great time. It was pretty low key but very fun. Charlotte is a small city however very beautiful. If I had to pick between Charlotte or Atlanta I would pic Atlanta as of right now. I didnt see much of Charlotte so its still on the shelf.

Besides that I haven't been feeling the best. I try my best to keep to myself however once I start to express my feelings I just pour my little heart out. I try not to question but I just want to know when will it ease up? when will this pain stop? I know God is watching over me and with God I can do all things...

Parents are the first teachers

Hey Beauties!

I tend to think of things in a traditional point of view when it comes to lessons of life that people should know. One thing I believe very much is that parents are the first teachers for children. Some may disagree and believe that the government should take care of everything such as schools and other resource centers.

I mean think about it...if a 5 year old child is in class and cannot say their abc's or 123's who are you going to question the class room teacher or the parents? I say the parents because while the child learns to walk and talk I do believe abc's and 123's come into play. How dare we carry an attititude that all responsibility is on the class room teachers? Now I'm not saying that the classrooms are off the hook if a child does know basics however...EVERYONE needs to take action. Yes it does take a village, city or town to raise a child.

Parents please get it together. You cannot put the blame on class room teachers, the "system" or whatever excuse you are coming up with that can explain a child being left behind. Think about it..

I know I have heard that phrase growing up from my mother dearest :D...I was a well behaved child however I talked a lot and many times I was ask "why mommy? why?" and after while she would say "Because I said so". very stern at that. I knew then do not question my mother again after she said that. I remember once even asking why? or saying that's not fair and ooo child did I regret it..now some may say whats the big deal or whats the point?

Too many kids are questioning parents, or more so an authority figure. Some adults will tell a child no and have to repeat themselves. Many children are RULING their parents..I ask the question why? Is it because parents are so occupied with their own "issues" that they give in? or do they think its cute? When I was a child I thought my mother dearest was strict and crazy LOL however she set an example for me. when I am blessed with a child I will teach them the rules of life : RESPECT GOD, YOUR PARENTS AND YOUR ELDERS.period.

The youngsters now are so caught up in being grown, and being spoiled brats and unfortunately some parents are feeding into it...Wake up Peeps..Remember "who is the parent and who is the child"

Letting the Lord Fight your battles

Does anyone believe in this famous quote? If you have money you can do what ever you want..however what about some of us that are not RICH? What do we do? Should we just give up on our Dreams? Should we just kick rocks and say "maybe next life time?"....I am choosing not to do so. I have dreams of becoming a psychologist and I want to help families. So today is Halloween...I don't really celebrate it. Don't get me wrong getting dressed up and partying is cool but there are some factors that makes me stray.
1) The church tries to keep us away from celebrating ghost, goblins etc... which is understandable.

2) One of my friends past away two years ago and this was the day she was buried. So I'm not in the mood to celebrate anything.
however I love seeing the different costumes..Did Anyone see Speidi and the Jon and Kate costume?? sooo hilarious!

hey darlins!

Ok so I know the title of this post is hype however it is something that is discussed when it comes in terms of job promotions.

Ok so one of my coworkers was complaining about the treatment of another employee that is not in our department. So she goes on a rant and says just like I say "its who you know, who you blow" mind u this a 61 year old woman smh lol.

Do we really believe this? I mean I cannot lie and say that there are not people who perform sexual favors to get to the top but come on what about facts like a promotion was given because he or she deserves, based on merit, sacrifices aka a job well done? Is this truly the world we live in now? what are your thoughts?
